Compare the SilverHawks ULTIMATES! Wave 2 Mon*Star (Pre-Transformation) and Bluegrass figures: their accessories, price, and which collector should choose.
Quick answer
If you want a villain centerpiece with extra Sky Shadow minions, go with Mon*Star; if you prefer a hero pilot with a guitar accessory, choose Bluegrass.
What sets these two apart
Both figures are part of SilverHawks ULTIMATES! Wave 2 and come in 7-inch scale with premium detail and interchangeable heads and hands. The key difference is the character and what they bring to your display.
Mon*Star (Pre-Transformation) is the unarmored mob boss, a fearsome foe even without his robotic armor. He includes a pair of Sky Shadow figures, which adds value if you want to recreate his minions or expand your scene.
Bluegrass is the ace pilot whose enhancements lack wings or built-in weapons. He comes with his Hot Licks guitar and his bird partner Sideman, making him a strong choice for fans of the character's personality and gear.
Price and pre-order considerations
Pricing differs slightly between the two. Mon*Star is listed at $34.65 (catalog comparison $55.00), while Bluegrass is $39.60 (catalog comparison $55.00). Both are pre-order items, so confirm the expected release timing with the store before purchasing.
If budget is a deciding factor, Mon*Star is the more economical option. However, the price gap is modest, so your choice should lean on which character you prefer rather than cost alone.
Trade-off decision guide
- If you want a villain display piece: Choose Mon*Star (Pre-Transformation). The included Sky Shadow figures add depth to a Limbo Galaxy scene, and the lower price makes it a budget-friendly pick. Check pre-order availability to secure your copy.
- If you prefer a hero with iconic gear: Choose Bluegrass. His Hot Licks guitar and Sideman partner are must-haves for fans of the character, even though he lacks the extra minions. Consider pairing him with other SilverHawks heroes for a complete team.
- If you're on a tight budget: Mon*Star is the cheaper option, saving you about $5. But weigh whether the extra accessories justify the slightly higher cost of Bluegrass. Compare final prices including shipping before committing.
