Learn what makes the Coraline SuperSize Button Eyes vinyl special, how to display it safely, and which collectors should add it to their shelf.
Quick Answer
If you love LAIKA's Coraline and want a bold centerpiece, the Coraline SuperSize Vinyl with Button Eyes is a striking 16-inch display piece that captures the film's eerie charm. It's best for collectors who appreciate large-scale soft vinyl and don't mind the premium price.
Why the Button Eyes Version Stands Out
The Button Eyes Coraline SuperSize Vinyl figure reimagines the film's protagonist with the iconic button eyes from Other Mother's world. This design sparks conversation and adds a darker, more thematic element to your collection. It's a deliberate artistic choice that sets it apart from standard Coraline figures.
Display Considerations for Large Vinyl Figures
At 16 inches tall, this poseable soft vinyl figure demands shelf space. Its soft vinyl material is durable but can be prone to dust and scuffs, so placement away from high-traffic areas helps keep it looking its best. Consider a dedicated shelf or display case that supports its height and weight.
Collecting Trade-Offs: Price and Rarity
Priced at USD 191.75 (compared to USD 295.00), the Button Eyes Coraline represents a significant investment. It's a premium collectible, not an impulse buy. For casual fans, the price may be hard to justify, but for dedicated Coraline or LAIKA collectors, it's a compelling addition that captures a memorable film moment.
Decision Rules: Should You Buy the Button Eyes Coraline?
- Budget and Value: If the price fits your collectible budget and you value a large, unique display piece, the Button Eyes Coraline justifies its cost. If you're unsure about spending over $190, consider smaller or less expensive Coraline items first. Set a spending limit before browsing to avoid impulse purchases.
- Display Space: Measure your shelf or display area to ensure it can accommodate a 16-inch figure. Soft vinyl can be posed, but it needs vertical clearance and a stable base. Clear a dedicated spot before unboxing.
- Collector Motivation: If you're a devoted Coraline or LAIKA fan who appreciates film-inspired art, this figure is a standout. If you're a casual collector, you might prefer a smaller, more affordable piece. Think about how this figure fits your overall collection theme.
