Category: Comparisons
Compare the 6-inch purple Bat Boy and the 2-inch orange micro version. Decide which fits your collection based on size, price, and display goals.
Quick Answer
Choose the 6-inch purple Bat Boy if you want a standout centerpiece with hand-painted detail. Pick the 2-inch orange micro if you prefer a budget-friendly, portable addition to your Japanese vinyl collection.
Size and Display Trade-Offs
The biggest difference between these two Bat Boy figures is scale. The purple version stands 6 inches tall, making it a prominent piece on any shelf or desk. The orange micro is only 2 inches, so it fits easily into small spaces, pockets, or even a bag for on-the-go display.
Think about where you plan to show it. A 6-inch figure demands more shelf space but delivers more visual impact. A 2-inch figure can be tucked into a display with other micro vinyls without overwhelming the arrangement.
Price and Value Considerations
Price is another major factor. The purple Bat Boy is priced at $48.75 (compared to $65.00), while the orange micro is only $6.30 (compared to $10.00). That's a significant difference, especially if you're collecting on a budget.
The higher price of the purple version reflects its larger size and hand-painted finish. The micro, while more affordable, still comes with a custom header card and the same quirky charm.
Trade-Offs at a Glance
- Purple 6-inch: Go for the purple if you want a hand-painted, larger figure that commands attention. It costs more but offers more detail and presence.
- Orange 2-inch: Choose the orange micro if you're on a budget or want a portable collectible. It's a fraction of the price and easy to display anywhere.
- Both?: If you love Bat Boy, consider getting both: the purple as a centerpiece and the orange as a travel companion or desk buddy. Check current stock before deciding—both were limited releases, so availability may be scarce.
