Compare the Misfits The Fiend and ThunderCats Mumm-Ra vintage figures on scale, accessories, and display appeal to decide which retro collectible fits your shelf.
Quick answer
Choose the Misfits The Fiend vintage figure if you want a horror-themed centerpiece with a haunted pumpkin staff accessory and die cut card back. Choose the ThunderCats Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living figure if you prefer a classic animated-series villain in a muscular, articulated 5.5-inch form.
Scale and articulation: same size, different display feel
Both figures are 5.5-inch scale, so they share shelf space easily. The Mumm-Ra figure is explicitly articulated, which helps if you like to adjust poses. The Fiend figure’s articulation is not specified in the catalog, so treat it as a more static display piece unless you can confirm otherwise. That difference matters if you plan to re-pose often or keep figures in dynamic stances.
Packaging and accessories: carded display vs staff option
The Fiend comes on a die cut card back with a Fiend Skull blister detail and includes a haunted pumpkin staff accessory. That packaging is part of the display appeal if you keep figures carded. Mumm-Ra’s catalog entry does not list accessories or special packaging, so if an accessory is important to you, The Fiend is the safer choice based on supplied facts.
Theme and collection fit: horror band vs animated villain
The Fiend draws from the Misfits’ horror-punk imagery, making it a natural fit for a music or horror-themed shelf. Mumm-Ra is inspired by the classic ThunderCats animated series and the muscle-bound action figures of the 1980s, so it pairs well with other ThunderCats vintage figures. Neither is inherently better—your existing collection should guide the pick.
Key trade-offs to weigh
- Articulation vs static display: Mumm-Ra is articulated, so you can adjust its pose. The Fiend’s articulation is not specified, so plan on displaying it as-is or confirm before buying. If posing is a priority, lean toward Mumm-Ra.
- Accessory and packaging: The Fiend includes a haunted pumpkin staff and comes on a die cut card with Fiend Skull blister detail. Mumm-Ra’s catalog entry lists no accessories or special packaging. If you want a complete-looking display out of the box, The Fiend has the edge.
- Collection theme: Mumm-Ra fits a ThunderCats or 1980s animated villain shelf. The Fiend suits horror, music, or Misfits-focused collections. Match the figure to the shelf it will join, not just the character you like.
